Weather Watch: No Jan. 31 Activities

We are closely monitoring the next round of winter weather expected this weekend for our area. Based on the forecast and after consulting with local emergency teams, all extra-curricular activities for Saturday, Jan. 31, have been canceled.

Any decision concerning our Monday school schedule will be shared with families no later than Sunday evening through email/text messages, our websites, social media, and local media stations. If you are not receiving our direct messages, please check your contact information in the Parent Portal.

Clubs

Russell Middle School offers many Clubs & Organizations for students in 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade.

 

Students must obtain a club permission form from the club sponsor before attending a club.

 

All before school "Packtime" Clubs are Thursdays before school from 8 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. Students can arrive at the front doors by 7:55 a.m.

    • Purpose: To expand students' knowledge and interest in art as a discipline & develop and/or improve individual artistic technique.

    • Activities: Art club produces artwork outside of the traditional art curriculum. Meets before school on Thursdays from 8 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.

    • Purpose: To expose students to instruments and perform while preparing them for HS band.

    • Activities: Practice, performances, and competitions

    • Purpose: to promote academic achievement, character, service, and leadership.

    • Purpose: Read and rehearse lines from plays and musicals for performance

    • Purpose: Student organization that supports the Family and Consumer Science currículum

    • Purpose: To build a common bond among students and athletes.

    • Purpose: To encourage and support students interested in teaching as a career

    • Purpose: To encourage reading and discussions about books

    • Purpose: Encourage and grow intesest in science-related topics

    • Purpose: Develop sewing skills with friends
    • Advisor: Ms. Victorio and Ms. Parham

    • Purpose:  to encourage students to develop enthusiasm for and expertise in their writing.
    • Activities: write stories that will be submitted to the Georgia Young Author Competition.

    • Purpose: to encourage students to enjoy reading and appreciate literature. 
    • Activities: Students prepare for the HRRB by reading and discussing books, writing practice questions, and memorizing facts.
    • Advisor: Aprille Williams

    • Purpose :students demonstrate their knowledge of technology and encourage them to become digital leaders.
    • Activities: complete and submit projects to the district technology competition.
    • Advisor: Lee Bane
